100 51 Things About Me
1) I am a fifty-something wife, mother and grandmother… most days I feel thirty-something.. with the occasional sixty-something day thrown in. :-)
2) I am married to Roland. He keeps my world sane.
3) I am Mom to three grown kids.. one stepdaughter, Jaimie, and two sons, David and Paul.
4) I am Grandma to four of the best kids in this world, Cynthia (18) and Christopher (17) and two new little ones, Birdie and Peanut.
5) I am proud to be Canadian.
6) My favourite colour is dark green.
7) I love the smell of my garden, the dirt, the tomatoes, the flowers.
8) When I was young I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian but became a nurse instead.
9) I have worked the past 21 years in an intensive care unit.
10) I took horseback riding lessons at the age of 49.
11) Computers and the Internet fascinate me.
12) I taught myself HTML.
13) I hand coded two personal websites.
14) I used to foster dogs for a local small dog rescue.
15) I adopted two of the dogs that I fostered.
16) I can not cook. Thank goodness for my husband.. he is a great cook.
17) I am trying to learn to “live in the moment”.
18) I have started doing yoga.
19) My first (and last) time skiing, I fell and broke my pelvis.
20) I once had a pet chicken named Petunia.
21) I was born in Saskatchewan.
22) I am a Taurus.
23) Eating raw carrots gives me the hiccups (strange but true).
24) My first car was a Dodge Dart.
25) At the age of 12, I broke my middle finger sliding into second base.
26) I got my first cell phone this year.
27) My sense of humour is sometimes lacking.
28) But I do love to laugh.
29) I tend towards being sappy.
30) And enjoy reading and collecting quotes.
31) I get tongue tied when I am nervous.
32) I wear different rings on each hand to help me distinguish left from right.
33) I have two younger sisters.
34) When I was young, I always wanted an older brother.
35) I have had cataract surgery in both eyes.
36) I wear glasses for close vision.. but otherwise I see great!
37) I was an LPN for 13 years before I became a RN.
38) I attended George Brown College, in Toronto, to obtain my RN.
39) I lived in Toronto for 8 years.
40) I have worked as a nurse in three different provinces.
41) Manitoba is my home.
42) I love our changing seasons.. spring, summer, and fall.
43) I am not crazy about the winters.
44) I do not mind the snow.. but I dislike the bitter cold.
45) I don’t like eggs.
46) I will eat anything else.
47) Except soggy sandwiches.
48) I am fascinated by all living creatures.
49) Currently, I am owned by two dogs, Coco and Sadie.
50) And one large Manx cat, Bear.. who rules.
