Bought my 2010 Olympic T-shit today….will be wearing it to work for the next 2 weeks. So proud of all the athletes from around the world….such a tremendous amount of work and dedication…such a passion for their sport. To have such a passion…imagine.
Yes, I thought the opening ceremonies were stunning…so many highlights.
K.D.Lang was so moving…her rendition of Leonard Cohen’s Halleluyah…, the Spirit Bear, the interpretation of Cathedral Grove…cedars on Vancouver Island, the whales…I could go on and on…if you missed it, please try see it when it will be rebroadcast…
Go Canada!
I got home from work at about midnight.. and luckily the opening ceremonies were being re-broadcast. Both Roland and I stayed up til after 2AM watching. Go Canada!!
The loss of the young luger is devastating though. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, team mates and all of the Olympic community. So very tragic.
I am American but have heard from friends what a beautiful city Vancouver is. I have been so impressed with the games and Canada needs to stand proud!! Cried with the poor ice skater who’s mother just died. The love shown to her was overwhelming. I also noticed that the Canadian athletes sing the words to the national anthem and that is quite impressive. Wish their American counterparts would do the same. What a wonderful country and a beautiful city. All Canadians should be proud!!
I do not understand ice hockey, but you must have been celebrating when Canada won. And I believe that Canada also topped the medal count, and if true that would be great too.
It is all so exciting….so proud, so honored to live here. Put aside all the complaints of cost/hassle/lack of snow….time to just enjoy it all.
I must try to pay attention to these games; I didn’t see a moment of the Beijing Games.

If Vancouver’s still looking for snow, we’ve got a foot or so we can spare… :-)
The opening ceremonies were beautiful!!! And I was so pleased to see k.d. lang. Goodness…she gave me goosebumps!
So sorry about the young man who died though.

It’s so sad that the young athlete died. Just so sad.
I won’t miss a minute of it that is on TV. Great beginning. You have every right to swell with pride.
