We made it through November without much in the way of snow or cold but the past few days ‘Old Man Winter’ has been subtle in letting his presence be known.
A small dusting of snow and winter like temps of minus 20C greeted us this morn. Still a far cry from my most recent memories of Decembers past… but winter-like, none-the-less.
In the photo below a brave soul still jogs down the street. I guess they don’t refer to us as ‘hardy Manitobans’ for nothin’ :-).
This past November was almost gift-like and even now, with little snow, and the yet to be felt unrelenting gusts of the North wind, winter has been kind. I can’t help but feel a little lulled into hoping for a mild (in comparison) next couple of months.
Sadie may not wholeheartedly agree with me and I know that the reality may well prove otherwise.. but for now.. fingers remain crossed in my red Canadian Olympic mitts.

That is a great picture of Sadie. She will welcome any weather, I’m sure, as long as it doesn’t keep her human inside.
I love that picture of Sadie also. I also love those pretty mittens! I’m not Canadian, but I wouldn’t mind having some of those. (I plan on being Canadian in my next life.)
Hey! You found your Olympic mittens.
Looks like Sadie can use some mittens for her paws.
Sweet Sadie looks a bit (you’ll pardon the expression) hangdog. She may need some warming and lots of Love and Affection. Fortunately that’s not too hard!
OMG…you don’t know how close I came to sending you some of the Olympic mittens in Mom’s Christmas parcel. They are all the rage here, being so close to Vancouver…I am glad to see Olympic fever has hit Manitoba as well!!
It is cold here as well…going to minus 5 tonight…I know, I know…but it is all relative. We don’t do below zero very well out here!!!!
Stay warm.
Olympic fever has certainly hit… especially with the Olympic fashions. Everyone … right down to the grandbabies are wearing the latest and newest in Olympic clothing. :-)
I guess our winter begins tomorrow. Considering the season, it’s time. It’s nice, however, that it took awhile to get here as winter may, hopefully, now feel shorter on the back end.
It has gotten cold here in PA this week too. And we had snow yesterday. Didn’t amount to much, but this is only the first snow.
Dress warm.
I believe that’s one of my favorite pictures of Sadie so far. The pose makes her look the hunting dog she is.
Sadie needs 4 little boots to keep her paws warm. Or is she a tough enough gal to brave the elements?
Lovely layout and scenes. We finally got our snow. Fingers crossed in mittens works every bit as well.
