you know… the adage that states "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong."
The beginning of the month started out wet and warm, admittedly quite unusual for Manitoba.
A rain storm in February.. who would have guessed. Anyway (trying to make a long story short) the place (referring to Manitoba here) was a mess…. mushy, icy, sloppy, and wet, wet, wet. Sadie and Coco, both wearing their winter coats, were quickly matted and dirty.
A dilemma of sorts arose. I had already booked a grooming appointment for Coco.. should I take Sadie in as well and get both of them clipped with their spring coats??
The warm weather continued. The dogs got scruffier. My house got messier.
"Take it off", I said to the groomer, "Sadie too".
What was I thinking!
Today it is -33C (not counting the windchill).
+Sigh+
Sadie doesn’t seem to mind so much. She’ll go out in any type of weather. But my little Coco isn’t so happy. It’s sweater and boots time for him.. and out only when necessary. Otherwise its under the afghan, thank you very much.
Warmer days are once more predicted for next week. Fingers and paws are crossed.

that dam Murphy!
Well, warmer weather will come to you, I guess. I feel bad for the dogs though. Of course, the fur will grow, but by then they may not need it.
Best wishes for a good spring!
Ah, wouldn’t you know it? Still, this should be the last conflict this season between the dogs’ coats and the calendar.
Hi Col
Thanks for visiting over at my blog.
Your Coco is gorgeous … as is my Coco pup.
I thought it was cold here in Ballinamore Ireland until I read your temps … really really cold.
Take care

Seems like it’s been a very cold, long winter for a lot of folks. Of course, it never gets as cold here as it does in Winnipeg. My daffodils are coming up and I’ve seen lots of robins. Yet…we had snow last weekend and we are expecting some this weekend.
Nice haircuts. The weather is supposed to warm up soon! All paws and fingers are crossed over here too!
I have debated back and forth about the grooming for Daisy too. Today she was hot and panting… 74 degrees out. But it might snow… well, they say it might… on Sunday night so… what to do. I think both Sadie and Coco look stunning!
It’s like washing your car and the next day it rains. At least the haircuts are cute.Coco looks a little miffed at someone behind the camera.
It’s been warmish here a lot lately, and it also rained a lot today. Much snow has melted, and I’m not too sorry.
Weather? There’s weather out there? *sigh*
Your two pictures show louder than words how each dog feels about the snow and cold. I’m with Coco.
I’m with Coco too. Blankety goodness.
They might be unfurred, but they look so tidy…
you know that must feeel good, (once the itch goes away) to be free of all that hair…that being said, my hair keeps my neck warm!!! .
That’s cold!! We’re having what was described as “up to 14 inches of snow”. I think it’s nearly over, and so far, 2 inches. I like that better
The pups look cute.
If it stays cold you may have to buy the little darlings a “Fur Coat”:)
We get so lulled by the warm weather and so shocked by the cold! I seem to recall a saying I grew up with in Massachusetts, something like ‘if you don’t like the weather wait a minute and it will change.
Today I took mum & dad for a drive to Inniskillen Farm at Grose Vale. It was a bright sunny day and the temp was a very pleasant 28c (about 82F). I stumbled across your photos of the snow and I thought….NO THANKS!
Cheers from Oz.
Adorable. I love the purple friend.
