While we have been busy with babies and other such wonders, Winter seems to have snuck on in. Today was cold.. really cold. With temps hovering in and around the -20C mark, unprotected fingers and cheeks are freezing fast.
Sadie is about the only one that I know of who is happy with this nippy turn of events. She loves it!
I guess with all of the baby commotion, I have been remiss in giving Sadie updates. I am happy to report that she is doing quite well. Our walks are now longer and her tolerance is better. The limp is less apparent and the leg is rarely carried high. It has been almost three months since she tore her left hind knee ligament and finally I am starting to believe that she may have a good recovery.
I am hesitant to say that the recovery will be in full.. but I am definitely hopeful that it will be enough to allow her an active life. Right now we are still being cautious, but I am starting to hope that by Spring, barring further re-injury, we will once more be able to visit the off leash dog park. Fingers crossed.
Winter may have settled over Southern Manitoba but that doesn’t mean that life has quietened down. We are busy, busy, busy.
Yesterday was a fun day. Both new grandbabies visited with their Great Grandma for the very first time.
It took a little bit to convince Mom that it was ok for her to hold them, but once they found their way into her arms, she was not about to let them go. She was completely and totally smitten. :-)
Only two and one week old respectively and already brimming over with their own personalities. I am not sure how their parents feel about this but I have already christened them with nicknames… “Peanut” and “Piglet”.
I will leave you guessing as to which one is which. :-)

I was just thinking about you today when I went by Roxanne’s to see who had been to visit her. I’m so glad that Sadie is doing better. And those babies! How wonderful for your mother to be able to be with them…and you too.
I’m glad that Sadie is making a good recovery and is able to enjoy the snowflakes.
What a wonderful picture of great-grandma and babies! The little ones are adorable and you must be on cloud nine because of them.
Take care and stay warm!
Wonderful pictures of Sadie and of your mother. Love the wild hair on the one I assume is “Piglet”. ;-)
While I’m not fond of the cold temperatures of winter (having just had a scare over our frozen water lines in the trailer) I do love how snow takes the sharp edges off winter. However, I prefer to see it from a distance, thank you very much.
Denny and I are off to search for sunshine until Spring and oh, how I’m looking forward to the trip
Two great pics there, Coll. Cold and snowy here too.
Good Sadie News and a very precious picture of her up close and personal. Great Grandmother looks like she is very glad that someone talked her into holding these little bundles. Love your nicknames, but I’m not sure I would share them with the parents.
That’s a wonderful photo of your Mom and the babies! And I also love that cool picture of Miss Sadie. Glad she’s doing so well.
Good news regarding Sadie’s recovery. I am amazed that P & P are getting to see their great grandmother. As for minus 20 degrees Celsius, that is beyond my imagination, and Sadie is reveling in it!
