A Sad Day in Frostyville

I started to laugh as soon as I spotted him, sitting proudly at the end of our neighbour’s driveway. An adorable little guy.. about 2 1/2 feet tall, wearing a floppy dark blue touque and showing off two little tomato-like eyes and a bight orange carrot nose. “How cute is that!” I thought as Coco ran up to take a better look.

Sadie held back, looking quite distressed. “Just who is this new kid on the block”.

Hesitantly she backed away and let out one of her supposedly intimidating “awhoooooooos”.

“What’s the matter girl. Don’t be scared, he’s not going to hurt you. Come have a look.”

Coco, not perturbed at all, sniffed about the little guy. Sadie remained on guard, circling at a safe distance, her stance indicating that she was ready to hightail it at a moments notice.

Slowly, gaining some confidence, she tentatively moved a little closer.

Then, without warning, she surged forward and bunted the wee snow head with her big nose.

A gasp escape my throat as I watched in horror as the little snow noggin now tumbled to the ground, blue touque still in place but tomato eyes and carrot nose spewed about.

Frozen in my spot I witnessed Sadie quickly devour one of the little red eyes and head straight towards the carrot nose.

“NO Sadie!” I practically yelled.

I hurriedly picked up the little head and tried to squish it back on to its little round torso. Touque still in place, the head wobbled and looked a little off center but stayed on. Sadly I couldn’t get the nose to stick and one of the eyes was gone for good.

“Oh Sadie.. what have we done,” I lamented as we quickly made our departure. Sadie, no longer fearful, pranced at my side. Coco, wondering what all the fuss was about, followed behind.

+Sigh+

We are going to have some big-time explaining to do come this evening.

Poor little guy! The Sadie is a wild woman, isn’t she.

  4. Jan says:

How precious is Sadie!! Our generic dog gets very protective when she doesn’t understand something. The Poodles would be like Coco…Why is she messing up a snowman?

  5. You’ll explain, and you’ll all have a good laugh. A little dog getting aggressive against a little snowman? I smile just thinking about it…

That is one of the funniest things I’ve read in a while…so inncocent yet so embarrassing and I can just imagine my own doing something similiar! Thank you for the smile. I am ending my night on that cute note!

    Oops! That is so funny!

I can just picture Sadie knocking the snowman’s head off and consuming the eye. What a cute story!

What a funny story. At least you were kept safe by that ferocious dog.

    Have a great weekend

  10. Touque sounds so much better than the American term “skull cap”.

Sadie is a trip, indeed. What a great video that would have made–where was your camera?
