Maybe it was the abundance of sunshine and the promise of an unseasonably warm afternoon.. but for what ever reason I was in cleaning mode this morning. Believe me.. this does not happen all that often. I guess I knew that if I wanted to enjoy the afternoon I would first have to get the to-do list out of the way.
Surprisingly it didn’t take long for the house to be tidied. I find that these tasks tend to take up more space in my head than they do on the clock. Once I got going, the housework was done in no time and then me and dogs were heading out the door in anticipation of a walk and a romp at the dog park.
I was just about to turn off of our street when I noticed my son’s truck parked in his driveway. At first I thought this unusual, but then I realized that he may have the day off because of Remembrance Day falling yesterday, on the Sunday.
Wondering if he would be interested in coming with us to the park, I drove to his house, got out and knocked on his door. He seemed totally pleased with the idea and soon we were once more headed down the street .. Sadie and Coco excited that David had now joined us.
The dog park was a new experience for David and I could tell from the smile that broke across his face that he was enjoying it all. With the combination of the nice weather and the Monday off, the park was bustling with dogs and people.

We walked and talked while Sadie and Coco ran about, often stopping to meet and greet other dogs and owners. David was quite taken by it all and as may be expected the conversation soon turned to his own hopes of getting a dog.
David has always loved dogs (he comes by this naturally I suppose) but has never had one of his own. Now that Nikki and he have a home of their own, I wouldn’t be surprised to find a pup in their yard, come the spring.
Kids and dogs and sunshine… it’s all good.
plans for this evening: yoga class
and in other news:
I took the plunge and updated to the latest version of WordPress (my blogging software). This tends to be quite a stressful undertaking as I always have the fear that something may go wrong and my blog will simply go poof and be gone.
Thankfully, everything went smoothly and I am pleased with the new features, especially the new tagging support.
I really must learn how to do the backup thingy.

Enjoy your class…kinda sounds like you are having one of those perfect days that we all cherish.
People always amaze me when they say that it didn’t take long to finish cleaning a house. I guess I have a short attention span because I usually get lured away before finishing.
I’m with Jan (above) on the cleaning thing. I do get totally distracted way too easily. I think though, if I simply focused on cleaning and not on cleaning and reorganizing, I’d be far better off. Now to learn how to separate the two chores!
Your descriptive of Sunday was soooo fun! I’ll bet you’re right about David and the poochie. Yay!
I wish I knew and understood more about blogging so I wouldn’t be so afraid to switch from Blogger to WordPress. I just never have the time to read enough to make me comfy with the switch. Bleh.
What a pleasant surprise for all of you.
I love the idea of a dog park.

I think it is so nice that you get more time with your son now. I bet the pups enjoyed his company too. I’m like you, when I do get the cleaning urge I get it done…not monkeying around and it takes less time than I thought it would!
Well, you keep on learning and shaming me. :)
Keep on enjoying life with the dogs.
I read a sign on a refrigerator the other night that said “House Work causes brain damage.” I don’t want to run the risk of brain damage.
I absolutely adore that photo of Sadie in your header.
Sounds like a perfect day to me.
I like the picture in your header, too, it brings a smile.
I spent part of the glorious day with Bear at Bird’s Hill. We have become regulars on the 7.2km trail around the lake. It was just me and Bear, and we met alot of people and dogs along the way. I don’t know where a better place would have been to spend the afternoon. I think we both slept real well that night.
What a relief when upgrades go well.
