Happy 84th

April 21st was the 80th birthday of Queen Elizabeth. April 21st was also the 84th birthday of my mom. Today we all gathered at the Olive Garden to celebrate. Everyone was there.. all the kids and all of their significant others. It was wonderful.

Mom needs a walker to get around these days.. but apart from that she is doing great. Her mind is as sharp as it ever was and she still enjoys a good time along with a glass of wine.

Two of her birthday cards came with various scratch lotto tickets. Offers to help her with the scratching were declined. She can manage just fine.. thank you very much. She did need a double check to see if any were winners and much to everyone’s pleasure, all told.. she came out $20.00 richer.

A year ago Mom fell and broke two thoracic vertebra in her back. Her 83rd birthday was spent in a hospital bed. To have her here with us today, and to have her doing so well is truly a gift.

Happy Birthday Mom… here’s to many more.

Happy Birthday to your Mom! :) It sounds like a wonderful time for her and everyone else.

I hope my mother lives as long. She’s turning 70 on May 2nd and we just heard this week that my siblings are coming to treat her to dinner etc. She’s so happy about that, even if they bring her nothing, it means a lot that they’re coming to her instead of expecting her to drive to them for once.

Amazing! My Mom’s b’d was April 21 also. I made special plans this year because it was her 75th and it just seemed about time. I got her out of the house and decorated, I arranged for my brother and his wife to come in from Atlanta (a 6 hour car trip) and we about gave her heart failure when she came back home and we met her with “surprise”. We also put her in a limo for a ride to a great seafood place along the river for dinner. It was a great b’d for her and for us.

But happy belated b’d to your Mom and of course let us not forget the queen! :-)

    Best wishes for many more.
